Ashlee + Grady

Last night, I spent the gorgeous evening photographing a gorgeous couple - Ashlee and Grady. They were so laid back and up for whatever. Which is PERFECT for me. :) I love photographing couples and capturing that interaction between two people in love. We started out downtown and then went to a park on the west side to finish up. The park was perfectly green and the light was delicious. Can I describe light as being delicious? Well, it was. Thanks for a great evening Ashlee and Grady, can't wait for your wedding!

Watermark at NewSpring

This past Sunday, there was quite an event at Hartman Arena. Our church (NewSpring) met there in a combined service (we usually have so many people that we have to split it into three services at the church) to celebrate more than 300 people being baptized. It was amazing. I had a front row seat since I was taking pictures, and I was blown away. There were tiny kids, grandparents, and all the ages in between going under, making the decision to go public with their faith. I can't describe it. We do this every year, and it seems to double each time. We were even on the news this year!

The photos will be able to speak more to what went down than I can say, so here are just a few of the hundreds of awesome people being baptized!

My beautiful friend Melinda lead a couple songs.

Our youth pastor, Sean got to baptize his daughter.

Pastor Mark said a few words, but for the most part, it was all baptisms and great music!

This big group all got baptized together!

Our worship pastor, Lance baptized his daughter last year, and his son this year.

Hope

Last night, I photographed Hope for her senior photos in Hesston. Hope is actually my second cousin, so it was a lot of fun hanging out with her! But strange, because when she would make different faces, I kept seeing her siblings and her parents in her face. This family holds a strong resemblance to each other! Crazy. We started the session in their own backyard, and made our way to an old Victorian house with a porch swing, the college campus, and an old barn that had been moved all the way from Pennsylvania. It's hard to imagine little Hopie as a senior, but here she is!

Rachel + Chris

Saturday evening, Adam and I photographed Rachel and Chris's wedding at Rachel's parents farm. Talk about a perfect location for a wedding. I could've spent an entire day out there with the couple taking photos. We had perfect 70 degree weather, and they were married right before sunset, so we had perfect light! Chris and his groomsmen are all from Boston, and it was interesting hearing them talk, and hearing what they thought about Kansas. :) It's a little different from Boston. After the ceremony on the front lawn, guests gathered under a tent for dinner, ice cream sundaes, and a live bluegrass band.

The first meeting:

The girls were in blue stripes and the guys in khakis and navy blazers. Very impressive looking.

Rachel and Chris live in Boston, and apparently if you get your picture taken with this magazine, the magazine might publish it! We'll see!

A Kansas sunset.

Rachel's grandpa and other relatives were in the band.

Congratulations Rachel and Chris! Have a great time in Cancun and at your Boston reception!

The rest of Rachel and Chris's photos will be available online in 3-5 weeks. Please send me an email at gina@gingerootstudios.com to be notified when they're up.
