Tara + Chad

This couple wins the prize for being cute. And fun. And laid back. And awesome. :) Chad and I have known each other for a couple years through mutual friends, and then Tara and I found out that our parents went to high school together. Small world! These two gave me complete creative control, which I loved, and they were just so excited to have their engagement photos taken. We had rescheduled back from the day earlier this month that SNOWED and we had perfect weather yesterday. Thanks for a fun afternoon Tara and Chad, I'm super excited for your wedding in April!

Things Lindsey Says...

"We better get this anniversary over with."

Happy 1 Year!

Today marks the first anniversary of the newly improved Gingeroot Studios. December 1, 2008 was the day I packed up my office at my house and moved into the studio. I don't know what I was thinking...what if I hated Lindsey?

Luckily she's pretty cool and I'm so blessed to have gotten to know her, and also to work in this beautiful studio.

Happy Anniversary Lindsey and Gingeroot! :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Gingeroot Studios will be closed

Wednesday, November 25 through Monday, November 30

to celebrate Thanksgiving with our family and friends! So don't try to come by, we won't be here!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

The Ott's

Welcome back the Ott's! I hadn't seen this family since spring, and it was so nice to be able to spend time with them again. We took a few outdoor family photos before heading into the studio to get some of the kiddos and baby. Between a van that smelled of turkey sandwiches and feet, and Thom's endless questions about Photoshop, I'm not sure I'll be able to take photos of this family again. JUST KIDDING. Thom can sure dish it out, so I hope he can take it too. And their van didn't really smell like that. :) Sorry Kim, had to throw that in there. Anyway....let's just get to the photos, shall we?

Lenz Family

7 dogs.

That's all I have to say. Okay, not really, but seriously, 7 dogs! It makes me exhausted just to think about it.

Many of you know Ginger, one of our studio managers. This is her family (who I LOVE!), and their 7 dogs. It was quite the adventure to keep all these pups wrangled, but I'm so glad we went for it. A lesser photographer would've caved. Just kidding. But it did help that dogs are like my favorite thing ever. :) Saturday's weather wasn't too cooperative either, but luckily the cold and wind weren't too unbearable, and it wasn't raining, despite the thick cloud cover. So, without further ado, here are the favorites from my session with Mark & Barb; Joe, Ginger & Avery; Aaron, Sage & Malachi; and (let's see if I can do this) Cali, Asher, Sirius, Jackson, Samantha, Lily, and.....I CAN'T REMEMBER THE LAST ONE...Ginger, help me out here!

Edit: It's DAISY. Sorry Daisy, I remember you now. :)

Madelyn

Finally! After a crazy amount of rescheduling, we were able to do Madelyn's senior photos yesterday. You can read about one of our rescheduling issues here. Madelyn brought her dad's amazing Mercedes (I even got to ride in it, woohoo!) for some of the photos. After some downtown photos, we headed over to the zoo, where she works, for the fun tall grass. And then over to Sedgwick County Park to finish off the night. Madelyn's a swimmer, so I'm glad we got some near the water, even though we weren't able to do any with her IN the water. Good luck at KU next year, Madelyn!

Christina + Blake

Christina and Blake were married on Saturday at the Greek Orthodox church here in Wichita. Lindsey and I met the girls at the salon in the morning and then headed over to the church to get dressed. Christina had a gorgeous Vera Wang dress that everyone was fawning over, and rightly so. After their traditional ceremony, we headed over to the country club for their amazing reception and a night of dancing. Christina and Blake were super generous and Lindsey and I were treated to a sit-down meal with the guests that was to die for. Here are a few of my favorites from their day!

Congrats to the newlyweds! Lindsey and I had a great time at your amazing wedding, and we hope you love your photos!

The rest of Christina and Blake's photos will be available online in 3-5 weeks. Please send me an email at gina@gingerootstudios.com to be notified when they're up.

Ew, Sick

Hello blog followers. A bit of bad news. I'm not feeling well today, and who knows how long it will last. :( I'm staying home in efforts to get some rest, but this means that I may get behind on some of my deadlines to get photos to you. I promise I will get them up as soon as I'm back up and at 'em. Thanks for your understanding and patience!

We Tried...

Yesterday, we tried to take Madelyn's senior photos. We really did. See? We even got this cute one below. But the wind ended up defeating us after about 20 minutes, so we rescheduled. Stupid wind.
