A New Obsession

Friday night, some friends and I got together for a bead party. We all went to Hobby Lobby and spent like an hour in the bead aisles, it's pretty interesting how different our tastes are, we all got different stuff. Then we went back to Val's house (the same Val from the post about Watermark) and beaded for several hours. Audra's husband had asked her how long she was going to be beading, and she replied, "Til death." Haha. Anyway, I'm now really into it, and I stopped at Walmart today to restock my bead supply. It's pretty exciting stuff. Here are some photos of the few things I've made so far. I'm taking catalog pictures of jewelry for a local vendor next week, so I thought I should practice.

My bead box.
It's fun stuff, and inexpensive compared to a lot of hobbies you could have. Too bad I started doing this right in the middle of my busy wedding season!!

Watermark Weekend

This weekend, we did something kinda crazy at our church. We had a mass outdoor baptism. There were over 150 people that were baptized, and it was absolutely amazing. Audra and I roamed around the whole time photographing the festivities. The pictures show it more than I can describe.

Here is part of our awesome tech team. They moved everything outside for the day. Val is in the purple and Sarah is closest to the camera. And you can see the back of Grace's head. :) Oh, and Luis's head is on the left. Kinda like Where's Luis (Waldo)?

We were trying to take a group photo (you can see me on the platform in pink), but I didn't have a lens wide enough to get all the people!

It was kinda like a concert stage.

This mom was baptized with her two daughters.

This was a pretty sweet moment. Lance, our worship pastor, baptized his daughter, Ellie.

Afterwards they had a bunch of games for the kids. This was the tractor pull.

Tattoos.

This is Travis and Montana. They're the coolest people ever. Montana and I lead our Clayhouse small group together.

Sno cones!

And a firetruck came and sprayed a bunch of kids!

We combined all three weekend services into one, and it was so neat to see that many people come together for a common purpose, and be so excited about people who were making their faith public! I hope we do this again next year. Then you can come! :)

Credit Cards: Accepted Here

One of the big changes has taken place: we are now accepting credit cards! For your ease and convenience, everything is done online through Paypal, but you don't have to have a Paypal account. It's quick and easy - you will be sent an invoice via email and then you simply follow the instructions on the email to pay online. Pretty sweet deal!

Pricing Alert

I'm sitting here, trying to think of what kind of sound a siren makes. All I can think is woo woo, but then that sounds like I'm cheering or something....anyway.

September 8 is THE date. Our pricing is going up. Big (but GOOD) changes are happening here at Gina Dreher Photography, including the way we do session fees, wedding packages, album design, even our family and senior packages. Now that I've been doing this for a little while, I've gotten a feel for what you want, and I'm changing accordingly.

If you've been holding off on booking your session or wedding, now is the time. You will be able to secure our current prices only if you book before September 8!

*Also, photo sessions for Christmas cards must be taken before November 8. Call now to reserve an appointment.

Crystal's Belly Session

Last night was my second ever belly session with Crystal and her husband Angelo. I photographed their wedding last September, and now they're expecting! It's so fun to see people in different stages of life, and also to get to be a part of it. Just the day before, the couple adopted a 9 week old dachsund, Audio (did I get that right, Crystal?). He was the cutest thing I've ever seen. I could've done an entire session with him! :) Here are the favorites from our session.

Notice the little guy tagging along, trying to keep up:

Practice!

It was hard to get good pictures of him...he was moving around so much!

Probably my favorite:

Licking my hand, what a schweetie.

Another favorite:

I love it when my clients are up for anything, and they sure were. Thanks for a great evening, you two!

Ivy

Last night, I went to Newton (my hometown!) to photograph Ivy. Ivy's a senior at Berean, and I took her niece Cora's baby pictures this past Spring. We had a lot of fun discovering areas around the train station that were good for pictures, and then we went several miles east of town to finish up on the farm where Ivy lives. It was beautiful...maybe one day I'll have a farm like that so that I can photograph people there all the time!

These cows were staring at us as we were walking around. When I tried to go up to them to take a picture, there was a stampede while they all ran away! This one was brave, though. :)
