We had quite the whirlwind engagement session on Tuesday with Maddie and Collin. It lasted only about 20 minutes! Maddie lives in KC and Collin in Dallas, so this was our only chance to get photos of the two of them together in Wichita for several months. We'll do a longer session in Spring when it's prettier and not so cold, but we needed a couple photos for their save-the-dates. After taking the long way around to our shooting location, we realized there was a fire drill going on at the library complete with fire trucks and hundreds of people out on the sidewalks. So, we had a little audience. One lady even called Collin her knight-in-shining-armor. I'll let him tell that story. ;) And the craziest part of the day? I GOT POOPED ON! GROSS. Here are some faves from their quick session!
Check out this stunner of a ring that Collin picked out ALL on his own!
Aaaand I definitely made Collin take a photo of the bird poop in my hair. It had to be documented. My thumb in the bottom right was supposed to be a thumbs up. :)
Meet the Allisons! They were very brave and headed out for a family session in the cold on Saturday. Their oldest was in town from California, and he sure wasn't used to the crazy cold Kansas temps, so I even made him some cocoa in the middle of our session. I think it helped. :) After we'd been shooting awhile, the dad told me he recognized my Jeep, and it turns out that he runs the business that fixed my Jeep up after my accident last January. After he told me that, I definitely recognized him too. Small world! Here are my faves from their session.
I love this couple! They were so laid back and fun and in love and ready to be married! They were both calm when we met up with them on Friday at the church, and Ryan had the biggest smile on his face as Sarah walked down the aisle for their first meeting...you'll see that, we got pictures. :) It was a little chilly, but the couple and wedding party braved the cold for bunches of outdoor photos before the ceremony. After the ceremony, Lindsey and I got to take advantage of the amazing Cathedral and take photos of the couple in the empty church. And then off to the reception, where Audra helped me second shoot since Lindsey had to take off. Thanks for letting me be a part of your day, Sarah and Ryan. Enjoy this preview!
The rest of Sarah & Ryan's photos will be available online in 3-5 weeks. Please send me an email at gina@gingerootstudios.com to be notified when they're up.
We are officially CLOSED for the holidays and will re-open on Tuesday, January 5th. I may make an appearance on here to blog the wedding we photographed yesterday. :)

Brrrrrr! Yesterday was the coldest engagement session EVER. Thus, the shortest as well. Erin and Tim are from Alabama, but Tim's working here and Erin came to visit him for only a few days. So we had no choice but to shoot in the frigid temperatures before she left today. We spent a little time in the studio and then braved the cold for about 15 minutes. We got some great shots though, it was totally worth it! AND, I got to use my new gloves from my last post! Here's your preview Erin and Tim, thanks for being troopers!
