CLOSED

We are officially closed until later this week. I'm not sure when we'll be able to have everything hooked up in the new house. But today is moving day! And I'll let you know when we're back up and running. I'll also have new sessions to blog, so stay tuned. :)

Hoy Family

Last night I photographed the Hoy Family at Eastborough Park. We'd originally wanted to go to the park downtown, but when I pulled in, there was a wedding going on! Change of plans. :) I've known Emily, the daughter, for several years through church and she's one of the coolest, nicest people I've met. Her family proved to be very much the same. I loved getting to know you and hang out with you last night, Hoys! :) Here are my favorites from their session.

Gonzalez Family

Yesterday evening I photographed the Gonzalez family. Helen (the daughter) was one of my first senior ever, back in 2006. And now she's getting married to Kyle (also in these photos) two weeks from today! Crazy how they grow up so fast. :) After our "formal" photos, we got ice cream at Marble Slab down at Bradley Fair. What a fun evening! Here are some of my favorites.

Aren't these two so fun? I'm taking Joshie's senior pictures in November, and I think I need to learn some jokes to get him to smile!!

It's Almost Official

Most of you may already know this (especially if you're my facebook friends), but we're moving to our new house on Tuesday. I'm super excited.

Anyway, if you're mailing checks, having a consultation, or anything like that, we will have a new address after next week. Also, because of the craziness of moving, things such as online galleries, orders, albums designs, etc, may take a little longer than normal. Thanks for understanding!

Matt & Rachael - Slideshow

Okay, here's a slideshow I made from some of the images that Amy Martin took at Matt and Rachael's wedding. Set to music, it might make you cry! Just a warning! :)

Thanks Amy!

I just wanted to say thanks to Amy Martin, who photographed Rachael's wedding this weekend. She took this sweet action shot of me! I always need those (for future use on my website) and the ones my husband takes of me at weddings are usually of my butt or something dumb like that! :) So thanks!

Matt & Rachael

I'm back in town from Matt & Rachael's wedding in Kansas City. It was absolutely perfect and amazing. And I feel like I'd say that even if I wasn't their friend. Everything went smoothly, everyone had a great time, Rachael looked gorgeous, everyone was able to be there, the ceremony was so personalized and Rachael was giddy throughout the whole thing. Here are some of the pictures I took, but since I was the maid of honor, I wasn't able to take photos through the whole thing. I'll post more from the other photographer later.

We started out the day at a hair salon in Bonner Springs.

Katie and Sandy (Rachael's mom) hanging out.

Leslie got in town the morning of the wedding - she's a volleyball player for her college in Tennessee and they had a tournament all weekend.

Leanne getting her hair done, with Rachael's claw finger at the bottom. :)

Pretty girls. It was hard being the photog and the m-o-h, I missed out on being in a lot of pictures! :(

First meeting.

Look how happy she is!

Had to do some sexy bridal portraits with this sweet red couch that was in the church.

After the ceremony, we went over to Loose Park, which is where Matt proposed and also where I took their engagements.

I love their faces in this one. Classic Matt and Rachael.

Felt bad about this one...I definitely snagged the keys from Matt for the groomsmen to "decorate" his car.

Everyone dancing the night away.

Matt's parents.

Rachael's parents.

Congratulations Matt and Rachael. I love you! Have so much fun in Mexico, I can't wait to hear about it when you get back. :)

Out of Town

I'm leaving, on a jet plane (red VW Bug), can't say when I'll be back again (Monday for sure). This Saturday is the big day. My best friend's wedding! Kinda like the movie, only I'm not Julia Roberts, and my best friend is a girl, and I'm not in love with her. Anyway, Rachael and Matt are FINALLY tying the knot on Saturday and I'm so excited for them. I'll be sure to post pictures of my first experience as a bridesmaid!

Hailey

Last night, I photographed Hailey's senior pictures. I've known Hailey from church since she was a freshman, and it is absolutely crazy to think how much she's grown and matured over the years. She has so much more confidence...she's a fantastic actress and ballerina. Which is why we had to take a few photos in front of the Orpheum downtown. I'm so honored to be able to capture her senior photos, and I think that since she had such a hand in deciding what she wanted for the pictures, her personality definitely shines through. We even did a trash-the-dress mini-session in her prom dress!! Here are a few of my favorites.

Erin + Garrett

Yesterday we went to Hesston to photograph Erin and Garrett's wedding. I've decided that I need to start training a photographer to be a backup for me, in case anything ever happens where I'd need someone to fill in. So Ginger came along with Adam and I yesterday to learn, take notes, and help out. She did a great job.

We started out by stopping by the reception to take pictures of the empty tent (above). Then we went on to the church where the bride and groom had their private first meeting and we were able to take outdoor photos. We were so blessed to have a dry Saturday after Friday's crazy flooding. 8 inches of rain! After the ceremony, we went to the arboretum in Hesston for some pictures of the couple and wedding party. While there, we were attacked by gnats and mosquitoes, but we got some great pictures, so I think it was worth it. :) Then over to their reception in Newton for some great food and dancing! It was a beautiful wedding and a perfect day. Congrats Erin and Garrett!

2009 Pricing

Our new pricing is now online! Go to our main website at www.ginadreherphotography.com and click on the pricing & products page. From there, you can click on either Wedding or Portrait pricing. Here are a few things that I wanted to highlight:

-The changes won't have a big effect on returning portrait customers. Anyone who's ever used us before gets 50% off their session fee, and our print prices are remaining the same. Two changes: first, you must pay up front to reserve your session date. Second, you will have 15 days to order now. Galleries will only be active for 15 days.

-We have a new Mod Package for family and senior sessions that's a pretty great deal, so be sure to check that out.

-Something that's not listed on the wedding price list and is a great deal for you blog readers who get the inside scoop: we have a special low priced package that will be available upon request only, and only to clients getting married in Wichita. Ask us about this great deal!

-Our albums are going to take on a more elegant look. They'll include a few less pictures, but will look absolutely amazing and flawless.

-We're moving to a new location in a few weeks, which means that we'll have a brand new show room and client meeting area! Of course we will have to have a bunch of new prints and canvases printed to put on the walls to make it amazing looking. :) If you schedule your bridal consultation after the first week on October, you'll get to see our new space!

Photo Books

I just had this fun Photo Book printed for my aunt and uncle, so I thought I'd share with you all what a Photo Book looks like. They're spiral bound with a frosted plastic cover and a cover image that is designed to include your names, date, or anything else you'd like. Here it is without the cover:

With the cover:

And just as an update - yes, today is the day that our 2009 pricing is going into effect. It may be a day or two before I post it...I'm working with my website company to figure out how to link pdf's from my website. We'll see if we can make it work! If not, I'll just post the pricing on the blog here, like I did last year. Stay tuned. :)

Morgan + Jon

This weekend was a two-wedding weekend. Sunday was Morgan and Jon's wedding at Westlink, here in Wichita. You might remember them - I took their engagements at the beginning of August. They had an intimate wedding yesterday and then they have to drive to Kentucky on Wednesday, where Jon will be stationed. We got news before the ceremony that Jon's brother had been in a car accident on the way to the church. Fortunately, he was okay, but Jon's dad wasn't able to make it to the wedding, instead he went to be with Jon's brother. I hope the pictures will help him feel like he was there! Here are my favorites.

Amanda + Keith

Yesterday Adam and I went to the tiny town of Caldwell to photograph Amanda and Keith's wedding. I decided that I want to move there, but when I told Amanda that, she said that there must be something wrong with me. But the entire town is just a perfect backdrop for pictures! Their church was awesome too, I took a bunch of exterior shots. After the full mass ceremony, we headed downtown to a gazebo and to the railroad tracks for some shots of the couple before we went to the Opera House for their reception. It was a beautiful day!

On the way home, we drove through a torrential downpour, and then there was this beautiful rainbow through the clouds. I climbed through the Jeep to get my camera out of the back and rolled down the window to grab this shot. A perfect Kansas rainbow.
